Department of Transfusion Medicine started MD Transfusion Medicine from January 2017. Till now 17 students passed out from the department and currently 7 students are perusing the course.

The broad objectives for this course are as follows:

1. To make the candidate competent to have a comprehensive knowledge about transfusion medicine.

2. To make the candidate competent in clinical transfusion practices.

3. To make candidate competent in Patient Blood Management.

4. To make the candidate proficient in blood banking and donor management.

5. To make the candidate competent to conduct independent research in transfusion medicine and related fields.

6. To make the candidate competent to lead and manage transfusion services in various healthcare institutions.

7. To make the candidate competent to understand the regulatory and accreditation or certification process for a blood centre.

8. To make the candidate competent to serve as educators, trainer, and mentors for other students, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals in the principles and practices of transfusion medicine.
