1. INTRODUCTION:
“Seven years back (2015) I could not even walk, Cancer was taking away not only my body, but my inner soul (peace) and was completely draining me financially. I was confined to my bed, losing my confidence. This was not the life I had imagined. The psycho-social support along with the treatment at IRCH has enabled me with hope, courage and optimism and I am ready and giving a tough fight to the disease! Now I can think of life again!! It's an ongoing battle, but with so many people coming together to support me, I am regaining and reliving today and wish to see myself beyond Cancer.
These are not merely words, but rewards that encourage us at the Medical Social Welfare Unit (MSWU) to work with continued compassion.
If you want to help and/or be helped towards challenging the battle of Cancer, please reach us through the below contact details:

To address medical social-welfare needs and provide services to poor and indigent patients, in 1984 the Medical Social Welfare Unit (MSWU) became operational. MSWU at Dr. BRAIRCH is headed by Dr. (Asst. Prof.) Rahul Ranjan, Addl. Medical Superintendent, Dr BRAIRCH, and under the kind and visionary light of the Chief of Dr BRAIRCH, Dr. (Prof.) Sanjay P. Thulkar, AIIMS, New Delhi.
Cancer is a disease with expansive physical, mental and emotional effects, along with an added heavy economic burden, therefore, the role of Medical Social Welfare Officers (MSWOs) is critical to the holistic treatment of a cancer patient.
The Unit aims to seek support from various governmental sources, non-profit organizations and philanthropists working dedicatedly to support patients with cancer. Hence, collaboration of human relations is a foundational principle of the Unit.
