INTRODUCTION

As you are aware, hundreds of Fixed Dose Combinations (FDCs) are currently available in the Indian market.  Clinical use of only some FDCs are fully justified while the rationality of majority is debatable. The dilemma on rationality of FDCs is a perpetual brain teaser for the drug regulators and experts as well.

Keeping this  in view,  a Brainstorming Workshop on “Rationality Assessment and Guidelines for Fixed Dose Combinations” is being organized jointly by the Department of Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences & Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,Government of India with support from World Health Organization (WHO).

The participation in the workshop is by invitation only.  Stakeholders  from academic institutions, regulatory bodies, medical professional bodies, and nominees from Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) will participate.  At the end of the workshop, a technical report will be prepared for submission to appropriate authorities.
