The Department of Pediatric Surgery would be organizing the “International Symposium on Pediatric Malignancies”, from December 29-31, 2005, as a part of the AIIMS Golden Jubilee Celebrations. It would truly be a multi-specialty symposium, with the participation of the experts from pediatric surgery Pediatrics, Pathology, Microbiology, Radiology, Oncology, Radiation oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Anesthesiology and Social welfare departments at AIIMS.  

Eminent experts from India, USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, Malaysia, Poland, Romania, Bangladesh, Abu Dhabi, Netherlands and Austria ( who are the active members of SIOP, IPSO, NWTS, IRS, CCG, Neuroblastoma Study groups and Molecular Biology cancer centers) would participate during the scientific deliberations.

Apart from the Guest lectures, Panel discussions, there would be good opportunity for close interaction with the experts. Attention would also be given to highlight that “cancers can be curable if detected early and managed properly”. Various prevailing Chemotherapy treatment protocols would also be discussed and revised. 

I am sure this would be a high academic feast for the surgeons, pediatricians, teachers, postgraduates, Nurses, Social organizations and paramedical staff who are actively involved in the management of children with various cancers.
