Henry Falk, MD, MPH, serves as director, Coordinating Center
for Environmental Health and Injury Prevention (CCEHIP), one
of four Coordinating Centers at Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC). At CDC Dr. Falk led the center's
national effort to prevent and control environment-related
diseases, illness, and deaths. His work includes
contributions to the federal responses to Three-Mile Island,
Mount St. Helens, Hurricanes Hugo and Andrew, and the
September 11th attacks. During the 1980s, Dr. Falk was
instrumental in developing the injury prevention programs at
CDC. A 30-year veteran of the US Public Health Service, Dr.
Falk's service culminated with his promotion to rear admiral
and an appointment as Assistant US Surgeon General. Doctor
Falk earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine in 1968. He received a master's degree
from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1976, and he is
board-certified in pediatrics, public health, and general
preventive medicine. His honors include the Vernon Houk
Award for Leadership in Preventing Childhood Lead Poisoning
and the Homer C. Calver Award from the American Public
Health Association. He has also received CDC's William C.
Watson Jr. Medal of Excellence, as well as the Distinguished
Service Award from the US Public Health Service.

Lewis Flint, MD, FACS

and Regional Level One Trauma Center, Florida,

Lewis
Flint, MD, FACS serves as Professor of Surgery and Director
of Trauma Services at the University of South Florida. Dr
Flint is a graduate of the Duke University where he did his
Medical and Surgical Training. In his career spanning over
four decades Dr Flint has pioneered the branch of modern day
traumatology and is famous for many of his works with
policy, research and education. His analysis of the Florida
Trauma System is a one of his well known accomplishments. Dr
Flint is known for his teaching and developmental skills
when it comes to creating both trauma systems and trauma
surgeons. This is proved by the fact that he has mentored
many of the leading trauma experts In the US and currently
leads one of the lowest mortality trauma service systems in
the whole continent of the United States. In 1994 the
American Trauma Society bestowed Dr Flint with the
prestigious Curtis Artz Award for his contributions to the
field of trauma. He has multiple peer reviewed publications,
grants, book chapters and research studies to his credit. Dr
Flint has been closely working with his colleagues in India
to collaboratively develop modern models of providing
