INTRODUCTION

            The AIIMS hospital had recently carried out the cadre review of nursing personnel.  Keeping in view the changed responsibilities of the nursing personnel, an attempt has been made in this dissertation to evolve job description of various ranks of nursing personnel. 

AIM to Develop job descriptions for nursing personnel of AIIMS hospital.

a)                  Provide quality / Comprehensive Nursing Care.

b)                  Satisfy the needs of the Patients.  

OBJECTIVES 

1.                  Study the existing job descriptions evolved by the ministry of health and family welfare and other organisations. 

2.                  Suggest job descriptions for various categories of nursing personnel of AIIMS hospital. 

METHODOLOGY

            To review the literature and study the job descriptions suggested by various governmental and other agencies.  By interviewing the senior nursing service personnel like the Chief nursing officer, Nursing superintendent and deputy nursing superintendent.  Also hold informal discussions with other nursing personnel.
