Nephrology

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the AIIMS provides comprehensive care for a variety of acute and chronic kidney diseases including highly specialised services delivered through the inpatient ward, daycare and dialysis unit and outpatient clinics.The Division is recognized for providing opportunities for training, research & education in Pediatric Nephrology. Training options for postgraduate specialty training include a 3-year DM program (DM Pediatric Nephrology), 6-12 months Fellowships (International Pediatric Nephrology Association) and 3-4 months Fellowships (Indian Society of Pediatric Nephrology). The Division also organizes an Annual Training Course in Pediatric Nephrology and publishes specialty textbooks (Pediatric Nephrology and Protocols in Pediatric Nephrology).

The Division is the secretariat for the Indian Society of Pediatric Nephrology and the Asian Journal of Pediatric Nephrology. Based on its contributions to clinical research on nephrotic syndrome, urinary infections and chronic kidney disease, the Division is recognized by the Indian Council of Medical Research as an Advanced Centre for Research in Pediatric Kidney Diseases since March 2018.
