Rashmi Shukla joined Genetic Unit as a Post-doc in January 2003. She has been actively involved in the Cytogenetics laboratory, which caters to prenatal and post natal analysis of patients with suspected chromosomal abnormalities. Her current research interests are to study the molecular mechanisms underlying chromosome instability syndromes such as Ataxia telangiectasia (A-T) and Fanconi anemia (FA) and to explore the utility of small molecule read through chemicals (SMRT) to readthrough nonsense mutations in A-T cells.
