Biography: Dr Rakesh Garg, MD, DNB, PGCCHM, MNAMS, FCCS is an Anesthesiologist, Intensivist, Pain and Palliative Medicine Physician. He has done Fellowship in Palliative Medicine from Institute of Palliative Medicine. He is Associate Professor at Department of Onco-Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, Pain and Palliative Medicine at Dr BRAIRCH, All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi, India. He graduated from University College of Medical Sciences (Delhi University) and got his MD Anesthesiology from Maulana Azad Medical College (Delhi University). He got his further training from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Thereafter he joined Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital as Assistant Professor. Later on, he joined as Assistant Professor at All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi, India and presently promoted to Associate Professor. He has over 260 National and International Publication and authored more than 20 Chapters in books. He has delivered over 100 guest lectures and panel discussions at various National and International Conferences/CMEs/Workshops. He has conducted over 50 workshops in this field. He presently, apart from Anesthesiology services, is involved in Pain medicine and Palliative care management of cancer patients. He is serving as editors, editorial board members and Reviewer for various national and International journals. I have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the proposed research project. I have a broad background in, with specific training and expertise in anesthesiology, cancer pain and palliative care research. As PI or co-Investigator, I have been involved in difficult airway management, perioperative anaesthesia management, cancer pain and palliative care of terminally ill cancer patients. I have been able to recruit and track participants over time as required in these projects. In addition, I successfully administered the projects (e.g. staffing, research protections, budget), collaborated with other researchers, and produced several peer-reviewed publications. I am also aware of the importance of frequent communication among project members and of constructing a realistic research plan, timeline, and budget.
