The following endocrine tests are routinely performed in the division:
- Growth Hormone Provocative Testing and GH assay for diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency
- Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone agonist stimulation for disorders with puberty
- ACTH stimulation testing for adrenal insufficiency
- Low and high dose dexamethasone stimulation test for hypercortisolism
- Water Deprivation and Vasopressin challenge test for suspected diabetes insipidus
- HbA1c and Urinary microalbumin point of care tests for children with diabetes
- 17OHP (for diagnosis and monitoring of children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia)
- Molecular genetic testing for the following conditions:
- Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, 21-hydroxylase deficiency type (in association with Genetics division, Dept of Pediatrics AIIMS)
- Neonatal diabetes (in association with Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust)
- Congenital hyperinsulinemic hypoglycaemia (in association with Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust)
- Growth hormone deficiency (in association with Dept of Anatomy, AIIMS)
- Panhypopituitarism (in association with Dept of Anatomy, AIIMS)
- Early onset obesity (in association with Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge)
