Qualifications:  

  • M.B.B.S. from IGMC, Shimla and M.D.  from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1988.
  • Dr.  Kapil is the in-charge of Bacteriology Laboratory and member of the Hospital Infection control Committee.  Her interest in research is related to hospital acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella Typhi.  
  • Awarded  International  Ambassador 2011 by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of American (SHEA) for work related to hospital infection control.

  1.   Mechanisms of resistance to Ciprofloxacin in Salmonela typhi( ICMR, New Delhi) (2008-2010). Funded by Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi. Funds: Rs. 12 lacs

  1.  Multi-Center  study on Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring  of SalmonellaTyphi and SalmonellaParatyphi A – An attempt to make national guidelines on antibiotic policy to treat Enteric fever. (2010-13) Funded by Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi. Funds: Rs. 30 lacs
