Recruitment to the posts of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators for the tenure
period as per Govt. of
India’s Residency Scheme at the AIIMS, New Delhi.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences is an Autonomous Body established under an Act of Parliament. As a part of its activities the Institute is running a large teaching Hospital for training of under graduate and post graduate students in various fields of Medical Sciences.
Applications for the tenure period, as per Govt. of India’s Residency Scheme, in the prescribed format as published below, are invited from Indian Citizens for the selection to the following posts of Senior Residents/Demonstrators which will become available between 01.07.2006 and 30.12.2006. The applications may be sent to the Examination Section, AIIMS, New Delhi – 110 029, latest by 22.05.2006. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered. The candidates can apply only for one post in the concerned department by indicating speciality/sub-speciality

(1) Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators (Medical) - A Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in respective discipline from recognised University/Institute
(2) Senior Demonstrator (Non-Medical) Ph.D. in respective discipline from recognized University/Institute.
(3) For Pharmacology, Physiology and Medical Physics both medical and non-medical candidates will be considered for the post of Senior Demonstrators.
(4) Qualifications for the post of Laboratory Medicine.
MD in Laboratory Medicine/Pathology/Microbiology/Biochemistry from a recognized University/Institute.
(5) The candidates who fulfill the requisite qualifications i.e. after passing their postgraduation and completion tenure of the said academic courses by 30th July, 2006 only will be eligible to apply for the post of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators at AIIMS.
(6) The candidates who are in service are required to submit their application through proper channel. The candidates will not be permitted for Examination/viva if their applications are not routed through proper channel.
PAY SCALE : (1) Senior Resident /Demonstrator (Medical) Rs. 10940- 11295-11650/- inclusive NPA.
(2) Senior Demonstrator (Non Medical) Rs. 9000-275-9550/-
AGE LIMIT : Senior Residents and Senior Demonstrator 33 years, relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto a maximum of five years. In the case of OBC candidates upto a maximum of three years.
RESERVATION : Reservation will be provided in the above posts in accordance with law. The appointment made pursuant to this advertisement shall be tentative and subject to further orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 5119/02. The reservation will be made on floating basis i.e. where the candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC category is found suitable and selected, that post will be treated as reserved for SC/ST/OBC
APPLICATION FEE:
The application fee for Gen. and OBC Candidate will be Rs. 500/- and that for SC/ST category will be Rs. 400/- by demand draft only, in favour of Director, AIIMS.
(a) A written Examination based on MCQs in the subject concerned (total marks 100) will be conducted for eligible Candidate who fulfill the requisite qualification and other formalities (such as application in prescribed format, reaching intime, application fee, on 17.06.2006 (Saturday) in Delhi only. The exact time and place will be intimated in due course of time through admit card.
(b) The result of the written examination will be displayed on the notice board of the Examination Section, at AIIMS on 20.06.2006.
(c) Candidates who get 50% marks or more in the written examination will be eligible for consideration for the departmental assessment. The departmental assessment will be held on 21st and 22nd June 2006.
(d) The departmental assessment will carry 100 marks; to be based on clinical evaluation/laboratory testing /detailed viva.
(e) The combined (written MCQs test as well as department assessment marks) merit list will be prepared for the final selection.
(f) The selection will be made on merit basis by counselling for the following groups only after preparing the combined merit list (written MCQ test as well as Departmental Assessment) for all the posts in the group concerned. For example, if one candidate applies for a post in Anaesthesiology, his candidature will also be considered for other posts in the same group namely Anaesthesiology (Casualty), Anaesthesiology (Dr. R. P. Centre), Anaesthesiology (IRCH). The counseling will be held on 24.06.2006 (Saturday) at 11.00 AM at AIIMS.
