Module -1, Series-2, 18th - 19th
March, 2006
Continued medical education is very important in the career of every doctor in any speciality. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a vast subject and post-graduate needs to qualify in a span of 3 years. Different institutions have their different methods of training the post-graduates. The depart-ment of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at AIIMS will be organizing a regular CME once in 6 months to comprehensively cover various aspects of postgraduate teaching in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The objective of the CME is to cover the important areas of learning this field by the eminent faculty over a period of 3 years by holding a total of 6 CMEs. The organization of the CME programme will be such as to cover not only didactic lectures but also pratical aspects including dummy demonstrations, mock examinations, practice of evidence-based medicine etc. The National CME is aimed at improving the overall skills of the students in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The proposed topics to be covered during different modules are outlined.
The CME modules conducted every 6 months in March and October regularly will ensure a uniform high standard of teaching and training for DNB/MD students, and will be of immense benefit for them to comprehensively cover their syllabus. This unique modular teaching programme will also be useful for Senior Residents and Practicing Obstetricians and Gynecologists for recapitulation of basics as well as advanced learning, with an option of attending both days or one day programme.
