INVITIATION

NATIONAL CME IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY

Overview and Objectives

Continued medical education is of utmost importance in the career of every doctor to develop and periodically update their knowledge and skills. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a vast subject and has undergone immense growth over the last decade in its various sub-specialties. The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology has been organizing a regular CME every six months with an aim to comprehensively cover the entire postgraduate course over three year. The course content will include didactic lectures as well as practical demonstrations, including conduct of labour on dummy and pelvis, case presentations, panel discussions and mock examinations. The programs are designed to be interactive to encourage participation of the delegates to clarify their doubts and promote healthy scientific discussions. This unique modular teaching program will ensure a uniformly high standard of teaching and training for DGO/DNB/MD students, and will be of great help in covering their syllabus.

The CME modules will be useful not only to the post graduate students, but also to the practicing gynaecologists who wish to update themselves and recapitulate their basics, with an option to attend one or both days of the CME. The proposed topics to be covered during different modules are outlined, with details of Module 4 to be held on 21st & 22nd August 2004.
