Dr. Kelly P. O’Keefe, MD. FACEP

Dr. O’Keefe is currently the Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.  Dr. O’Keefe is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine (Miami, Florida), and completed his post-graduate training at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, where he finished a year of Internal Medicine Preliminary training, and a three year Emergency Medicine Residency.  Dr. O’Keefe was a Program Director for the combined military Emergency Medicine Residency in San Antonio, Texas, and then established the training program in Tampa in 2002.  In addition to his responsibilities as Residency Director, Dr. O’Keefe serves as the Medical Director for the Adult Emergency Department at Tampa General Hospital. He shares his passion for practicing Emergency Medicine and Training Residents with his wife Tracy Sanson who also is an American Board Certified Emergency Physician and a Director of Education for Residents and Students at the University of South Florida Emergency Medicine. He has three daughters and has a strong belief in good family values.

He will be delivering the key note address which focuses on developing Emergency Medicine, creating a Emergency Department and a Emergency Medicine training program.
