People in every nook and corner in Delhi have heard and guide about the location of AIIMS. Well known landmarks near AIIMS is Safdarjang Hospital which is located right opposite to AIIMS on Sri Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjang Airport which is about a kilometer from AIIMS,

Reaching Delhi Delhi has one international airport and there are three main train stations in Delhi: (1) Delhi Old Delhi , (2) New Delhi, and (3)Hazrat Nizamuddin. In almost all state run road transportation, the last stop is going to be (4) ISBT or (5) Sarai Kale Khan. If you arriving by car, then check out the location of AIIMS in the clickable map of Delhi.

Here are the Bus Routes from each of the entry points are given below. At some of these points there are `pre-paid auto' counters apart from the airport which has `pre-paid taxi' counters. While booking an auto or taxi to AIIMS, mention the destination as AIIMS (Medical) or Safdarjang Hospital.

From Airport: If you are taking a flight to Delhi, as you come out of the Airport, just outside the terminal building you will find a `prepaid taxi counter. Book a taxi for AIIMS. Remember that you should pay only at the counter and not to the driver. They will give you a piece of paper which you have to hand over to the driver only after you are satisfied that you have reached your destination.

Delhi station: Prepaid Auto Stand exist. Taxis Available. There is only one direct bus from Delhi Station to AIIMS i.e. 502.  Alternatively,  Take an auto or cycle Rickshaw to Mori Gate Terminal. And form there catch bus no. 501 which comes directly to AIIMS..

New Delhi Station: Prepaid Auto Stand exist. Taxis Available. There are pre-paid auto counters on both sides of the station, but you will find pre-paid taxis only on the Ajmeri gate side. There are no direct buses from New Delhi station to AIIMS. Come out of the station on Ajmeri Gate side, and walk to Kamala Market. From there catch bus nos. 505, 520,  to AIIMS.

Hazrat Nizamuddin: Prepaid Auto Stand exist. Taxis Available. There are no direct buses from Hazrat Nizamuddin to ISI. From outside the station you can get Mudrika Buses which will drop you at AIIMS.

ISBT: Auto and Taxis Available. There are direct buses from ISBT to AIIMS i.e. 533, 503. Walk or take a cycle Rickshaw to Mori Gate Terminal. And from there catch bus no. 501 which comes directly to AIIMS.

Sarai Kale Khan: Auto and Taxis Available. There are many direct buses from Sarai Kale Khan to AIIMS (or Medical). You can get bus no. 543 or Mudrikas to AIIMS. .

  1. Restaurant in Qutab hotel- (across the ravine from ISI)- offers North-Indian cuisine.
  2. Karnataka in Yusuf Sarai -offers North Indian, South Indian and Chinese cuisine.
  3. Goverdan -offers South Indian Cuisine
  4. Sagar Ratna (in Malviya nagar market) -offers North/South Indian Cuisine
  5. Woodlands (in Munirka) -offers North/South Indian Cuisine

And many more can be found in the markets of Yusuf Sarai and adjacent South Extension Market to sooth your taste buds.  

Places to stay

  1. The Institute has a guest house and accommodations can be arranged for academic visitors if request is made in advance and the bookings would be on first come first serve basis. The guest house has a well equipped dinning hall where Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided.

  2. Hotel Hyaat-is located near the to Institute as well. Bookings can be made there as well.

  3. Qutab Hotel- is also located near the institute. Bookings can be made there as well.
