Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center is being  established as the apex center of the country at Raj Nagar on the Ring Road about two kilometers from AIIMS.  This multi disciplinary center apart from providing holistic trauma care services will also function as referral center.
 

Mission statement

The mission of the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center, AIIMS is to provide state-of-the art comprehensive trauma care services to acutely injured patients and those requiring specialized services.

Aim and Objectives of the Trauma Center

1. To provide high standards of trauma care to the patients in accordance with international standards.  This Trauma center will have full range of specialists (surgical and non-surgical) and equipment available 24 hours a day, and will be able to admit high volume of severely injured patients.

2. It will be a referral center for patients from neighboring regions who will require specialized trauma management and rehabilitation.

3. Network all regional Trauma Centers for all aspects of trauma care including patient care, data collection and establishment of a National Trauma Registry.

Modalities of Working of the Trauma Center

The Trauma center will be a center of excellence in providing comprehensive trauma care services and will function as an apex Institution of the country.  This multidisciplinary center apart from providing holistic trauma care services, will also become a “Role Model” for other trauma centers, in terms of conceptualization, project formulation and operation.  It will have a control room for effective co-ordination and communication besides having networking linkages with other hospitals and agencies.  It will also be the center for training and education of Medical, Paramedical personnel and Public.
