Dr. Shakti Gupta                            

Dr. Shakti Kumar Gupta is an Additional Professor in the Department of Hospital Administration, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.  He did his MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Jammu and obtained his MHA degree from AIIMS.  He is a Research Guide for Post-Graduate and Ph.D. Course in Hospital Administration, Editor of the Journal of Academy of Hospital Administration.  A recipient of WHO fellowship to USA.  Dr. Shakti Gupta represented the country in the East West Meeting on Telemedicine sponsored by Asian Productivity Organization, Japan and conducted at Hawai, USA. Invited by National University of Singapore, Graduate School of Business to participate in Hospital Management Program for Chief Executives from Asia Pacific held at Singapore from 6th to 10thSeptember 1999. He has been awarded Pratibhashri Samman – 2002 from “Arvaheen Education and Cultural Organization”. He has been elected as Distinguished Fellow of Institute of Hospital Engineering, Chandigarh.

 

“Attended short course in Pharmacoeconomics-Evidence, Money & Drug Selection” from 6th to 16th February, 2002 at New Delhi & Jaipur, India (sponsored by World Health Organisation) organised by Delhi Society for Promotion of Rational use of Drugs, The University of Birmingham, UK, University of Sydney Australia & University of New Castle Australia and World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre in Pharmacotherapy & Rational use of Drug Use.

 

Medical Council of India has appointed him as Inspector for recognition of Post Graduate courses in the discipline of Hospital Administration.  He was appointed as International consultant on Procurement & Supply Management India TB & HIV/AIDS Programs supported by Global Fund under UNOPS Asia Office Project (2KY/4MAL) from 3rd to 14th October 2003 at Delhi (UN Assignment). 

 

He has about 31 research papers to his credit and has also authored two books “Hospital and Health Care Administration – Appraisal and Referral Treatise” and “Hospital Stores Management – An Integrated Approach”. He is also editor of book on “Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Management – A Holistic Approach”. 

 

Nominated by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, as an expert for establishing 200 bedded Trauma Center at Kathmandu Nepal. Member of expert committee for upgradation of National Referral Hospital at Thimpu & Regional Referral Hospital at Monger, Bhutan.

 

Nominated by Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, member of the committee for preparation of training module/curriculum for in-service training of Hospital Managers and Professionals.

 

Invited by Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to associate in the research activities conducted by Center for Management of Health Services, IIM, Ahmedabad

 

Member of the Bureau of Indian Standards for developing Indian standards for hospital equipment management. Member of the panel at Bureau of Indian Standards for developing quality assurance standards for patient care services. Member of the Core-Group for developing Curriculum for Diploma course in Health and Environment for Medical and Allied Health Professional sponsored by ACTS Ministries, Bangalore in collaboration with School of Health Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.

 

He has organized various National and International Conferences and Workshops and conducted WHO and World Bank Projects.
