She has been
on the faculty of the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Center of Ophthalmic Sciences,
New Delhi, since 1987, where she is currently an Professor
.
Dr Sihota has
over 65 publications in peer reviewed, international journals, as
well as over 40 other publications. She has edited annual reviews
in glaucoma, and authored chapters in five books. She has presented
her work at over 100 international and national scientific meetings
and chaired many scientific meetings.
Dr Sihota won
the Bodhraj Sabharwal gold medal in Ophthalmology 1982, the Dr.
P. Siva Reddy Award for Ophthalmic Research. in 1998 and the D B
Chandra award for Glaucoma research in 1999.
Her areas of
active scientific interest include angle closure glaucoma, neo-vascular
glaucoma and drug therapy in glaucoma.
She is the President
of the Glaucoma Society of India and a member of the Indian Council
of Medical Research - Advisory group on glaucoma and its 'Project
review committee'.
