Dr M.Vanathi completed her graduation from Madras Medical College, Chennai and joined the institute for postgraduation in ophthalmology from Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences in 1995. She completed her Senior Residency in cornea services at the centre and has worked as a senior research associate in the centre. She has also worked as consultant of Cornea Services in Aravind Eye Institute & Research Centre, Pondicherry. She has made several national  & international scientific presentations and has 19 international indexed publications to her credit besides several national non-indexed publications & chapters in books. Recent achievements include being invited as chief instructor for instruction course in the prestigious American Academy of Ophthalmology – 2006 and invited as co-instructor in the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology – 2006.
