Several faculty members of the centre have served as experts (Members or Chairperson) in national bodies to strengthen drug dependence related activities in the country. These include-
• Expert Committee Report – Drug use in India.
• Expert Committee to develop national drug de-addiction services.
• Scientific advisory Committee of regional research centre (north east), ICMR.
• National Master Plan for drug abuse control.
• National working group on building technical capacity.
• Committee to strengthen the de-addiction centres under the Ministry of Health.
• Terminal report in respect of country programme of UNDCP.
• Editorial committee of important national and international journals on drug abuse.
• Resource persons in national and international scientific meetings.
• Coordination committee of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
• National Survey on extent and pattern of drug abuse in India (UNODC and MSJE).
• WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependence
• International Society of Addiction Medicine.
• Committee on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD), USA.
• Reference Group to United Nations on HIV and Injecting Drug Use

Faculty members have also received international fellowships on advanced Analytical Techniques of drugs of abuse (UNDCP) and International fellowships on drug abuse (NIDA, USA). Additionally, Faculty members of the centre have received various international awards of repute such as NIDA INVEST Fellowship award; NIDA, NIH Distinguished Scientific Collaboration award, NIDA, NIH, US Govt. award; Fogarty Fellowship on HIV/AIDS at UCLA, Los Angeles. Some faculty members received International-travelling awards to participate and present their research papers in NIDA International and CPDD conference.
