RESEARCH:

1.                  Conformational aspects of protein, DNA and their interactions with various anticancer drugs (Cis-platin, Bleomycin, Coralyne etc. and novel drug molecules)    using biophysical and biochemical methods.

2.                  Anti-gene based DNA triplex technology in Cancer: targeting various cancer genes c-met, a receptor tyrosine kinase in hepatoma; hmga1, hmgb, non-histone chromosomal proteins and c –myc protooncogene.

3.                  TRE associated Neurodegenerative disorders, Friedreich’s ataxia (FRDA)  and different types of Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) ; Aspects on 

·         Molecular pathogenesis of FRDA

·         Molecular analysis of triplet repeat expansion (TRE) for the diagnosis  and

·         Clinical Proteomics for the Identification of protein biomarkers.

4.                  Identification of membrane proteins in Acinetobacter baumannii bacterium for the drug resistant clinical strains:  Proteomic technology and Drug designing.
